WATER PROGRAM

The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership Water Program, funded by the governments of Canada and Alberta, supports agricultural water management by providing funding to help primary producers adopt beneficial management practices and priority actions that reduce risks to water quality and supplies, support adaptation to climate variability, and ensure the efficient use of water resources. Project examples include, but are not limited to, spring developments, well or dugout construction, off-site watering systems, well decommissioning, subsurface drip irrigation systems, low-pressure centre pivot systems, and variable rate irrigation equipment.

Grant maximums and cost-share requirements depend on project type and the program stream to which an applicant applies (i.e., On-Farm Irrigation Stream or On-Farm Water Supply Stream).
