Waterton Biosphere Reserve
2022-2026 Cooperation Plan
Our Cooperation Plan survey is now open
Do you live, work, or have traditional territory in the Waterton Biosphere Reserve? If so, we want to hear from you!
Help us identify how the Waterton Biosphere Reserve can best support and facilitate our three core functions outlined below. As we address these functions, how can we build our relationship with Indigenous Peoples and respond to a changing climate?
Biodiversity Conservation
What initiatives can we undertake to promote conservation of landscapes, ecosystems, and species?
Sustainable Development
How can we encourage economic and human development that is socially, culturally and environmentally sustainable (meets the needs of the present, without compromising the needs of future generations)?
Capacity Building
How can we improve the ability and potential of our communities to make sound decisions for conservation and sustainable resource use via research, monitoring, education, and information exchange?
Influence the future of the region and have your say by taking our survey here.
The Process
This survey is only the first step. We will be working on several aspects of the Cooperation Plan between now and July 2022. Refer to the infographic on the left to see a breakdown of what the process will look like and how you can get involved.
