The second Day on the Creek was held in Pincher Creek on May 30, 2018. Many thanks to the teachers, staff members, students, individuals and organizations who made this day possible!
More than 850 students, teachers, and community members came out to enjoy the day, experiencing and learning about the environment and human history along the creek.
A total of 81 sessions were held for 34 classes from Kindergarten to Grade 12 at 17 different stations along the creek and 3 off-site locations, plus there were 3 ongoing drop-in activities. More than 70 presenters and volunteers from the community and 17 organizations came out to engage with students and the public along the creek.
The event was hosted by the Waterton Biosphere Reserve Association (WBRA), Alberta Parks, Town of Pincher Creek, and Livingstone Range School Division. We would like to recognize our 2018 event sponsor Shell Canada and also the Alberta Council for Environmental Education for the Get Outside and Play Grant.
