WBRA has summarized large carnivore occurrence records for southwestern Alberta beginning with data from 1999. We have continued to update these reports annually as part of our evaluation of the CACP. More recently, AEP began summarizing occurrence records annually for grizzly bears for BMAs 4, 5, and 6 in southern Alberta. These reports begin in 2016 and have continued to be updated annually. WBRA reporting focuses on descriptions of large carnivore occurrences for grizzly bears, black bears, cougars, and wolves. AEP reporting is done for grizzly bears only and focuses on the risk to human safety. AEP reports also include information on predator compensation, grizzly bear mortality and translocation, and conflict mitigation projects. Thus, while different, the reports are complementary.
